Jonathon Linner, CEO and Co-Founder
Jonathon Linner is a serial entrepreneur who sees the world without strings, borders, or limitations. His industry-leading career spans two continents, three successful startups, and a range of media and technology businesses.
Prior to launching Limbo, Jonathon was CEO and co-founder of the global mobile marketing firm Enpocket, as well as the worldwide head of the Engage wireless business and a member of the team that developed the company's industry-leading media analytics offering, AdKnowledge.
Linner began his career with Cox Communications before moving on to develop the Internet server and software offerings for Sun Microsystems' Netra product line.
David Limp, COO
Dave is the company’s Chief Operating Officer. His association with Limbo dates back to its inception in 2005 when Azure Capital Partners, the venture capital firm with which he was a Venture Partner, provided seed funding for the start up.
Prior to Azure, Dave was Senior Vice President of Business Development of PalmSource. In this role, he was responsible for corporate development, and network operator sales. Prior to this role, he was Chief Strategy Officer of Liberate Technologies. Dave was promoted to that broad strategic role from the position of Vice President of Marketing, after helping to successfully spin the company out from Oracle. And previously, Dave spent nine years with Apple Computer.
Dave holds B.S. degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University and an M.S. degree in Management from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Dave is currently on the board of Education.com and Motricity.
Juho-Pekka Virolainen, CTO and Co-Founder
JP spends his days (and nights and weekends) developing and creating technology products to power Limbo's interactive services and to deliver a superlative user experience.
Before joining Limbo, JP was the vice president of engineering and services at Meridea Financial Software, Ltd., a co-founder and CTO at Mobicus, Ltd., and CTO of Enpocket, Inc.
With eons of information and communication technology industry experience in various leadership roles, JP offers immeasurable expertise in the operations, processes, and critical success factors of information and communication technology for startup companies.
And no, his mother doesn't hate him. He's Finnish. (Go Suomi!)
Rob Lawson, CMO and Co-Founder
Rob spends his days ensuring a superlative member experience and acquiring shiny, happy members for Limbo.
Before Limbo, Rob was a co-founder of Enpocket, a global mobile marketing firm that represented brand-name clients such as Fox TV, TBS, Levi's, and Reebok. There, Rob was responsible for U.S. operations and for the development of Enpocket's data and research services. Additionally, he worked with broadcasters, operators, advertisers, and agencies to understand how and why mobile marketing works for their brands, as well as how this marketing could be improved.
Previously Rob was European research director for Engage from 1999 to 2001, where he managed and sold the Adknowledge product across Europe. Prior to Engage, Rob was director of Internet research at NOP, where he pioneered the use of online interviewing in the U.K. and in Europe.
Many moons ago, Rob worked stints in automotive engineering, retail design, and video research.
Dave Oberholzer, VP of Corporate Development
Dave is Limbo’s Vice President of Corporate Development. At his previous companies, Verizon Wireless and InphoMatch respectively, Dave was a major force in shaping the mobile data industry in the United States. In leading the direct-to-consumer data business at Verizon, Dave drove the content programming team that was responsible for all off-deck content, which included such hits as “Deal or No Deal,” as well as launched downloadable content, which included ringtones and images. And as the chairman of the Mobile Marketing Association’s (MMA) Consumer Best Practices Committee, Dave helped pioneer the development of mobile content and off-deck community in the U.S. marketplace. In recognition of his achievements, Dave received the coveted MMA “Outstanding Individual Achievement Award” in 2006. Dave currently serves on the MMA Board of Directors as well as co-chairs its Consumer Best Practices Committee.
Before joining Verizon Wireless, Dave was director of carrier services at InphoMatch, an inter-carrier messaging vendor. He studied computer science at Villanova University and has an MBA and an MIS from the University of Maryland. Additionally, Dave served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, where he flew carrier-based aircraft.
